Slave Trigger

Is the Pop flash strong enough to trigger a slave?
Depends on distance and angle. Most slave sensors have a rated range of about 30 feet or so, provided they can see the flash.
It also depends on if the pop-up can be set to a manual mode, firing only once, instead of firing metering pre-flashes and red-eye reduction bursts. All of those will also trigger the slave, which will then be recharging when the shutter opens.
You could also use a devide like this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/549922-REG/Wein_W918300_Sync_Link_Universal_IR_Flash.html which triggers slaves with an infrared flash, but doesn't add anything to the exposure. Unless you are shooting IR of course.
