Changed a 10Watt bulb with 20Watt for outdoor light set.?

The set seemed to work fine but then the next day i noticed it was not working. I checked the light sensor and the wires but no sign of external damage. Could I have over loaded the transformer? Any body any surgestions?

Yes, you could have since those type transformers are rated by the wattage used. If you were at it's limit before you changed the bulb, that's exactly what you did. Good catch!
If it doesn't start working again after it's been off for a day, (high limit switch ) it's time for a new transformer.
