How do you change flash pattern on Whelen 9M Strobe Light bar?

I know the instruction manual says to momentarily apply 12V to the "appropriate socket on the power supply". How do you know what the appropriate socket is and knowing that, what do you use or how do you apply 12V momentarily to change the flash pattern? Also, on a 8 strobe head model light bar, can you change out the front halogen flashers for inboard strobe tubes without having to rewire anything?
