Nikon Canon

Which is better Nikon or Canon when it comes to SLR ?
I hear so much about Canon and Nikon, but which is really better. I have purchased two Coolpix cameras and I jsut bought the Nikon D60 a few days ago. I have 10 days to make up my mind about the camera. What do you think? Canon or Nikon? And what is it about the Nikon lenses? I hear that they're all interchangeable, but doesn't other cameras do the same thing? Thanks, guys!
Current Nikon cameras will accept any Nikon mount lens made since 1977 (since 1959 with conversion). This gives Nikon a huge advantage in lens interchangability, as they've worked hard to not abandon their legacy optics.
Current Canon camera will accept any Canon mount lens made since 1987, since they changed their mount from their FD to the EF mount at that time.
As for better, each brand has strengths and loyalists.
Here's one bit of reading that you should see. http://www.jdpower.com/electronics/ratings/digital-camera-ratings/dslr
I've heard this from a few sources.
"Canon cameras are designed by engineers. Nikon cameras are designed by photographers."
