Blue Muslin

Backdrops for Portrait Photography...Help?
I'm going to be doing some portraiture shots in a few days, and I'm looking to get some backdrops. I have a stand for supporting a muslin; we have a green screen, but I hate using it, and I imagine it would be horrendous for portraits, even if cropped out of the photograph- in my experiences, mine always leaves a green cast, no matter how I set up the lighting, or how far I place my model from the screen.
What would work best, sheets or muslins/canvases, for the money involved? I was thinking some dark blue or purple queen-sized bed sheets. Please give me any advice on this topic you can, and thanks in advance for your answers!
you can use bed sheets, Use a color that is easy on the eye but not to bright to take away from the people. you can also make your own. Get a sheet canvas and buy several colors and splatter paint on the sheet or canvas. ytou can use a blank wall and hang a picture to fill the dead space. Or go out doors and find a nice park with a beautiful back ground to do the shoot I like out doorsmyself.
